This is almost supported as is today with points for wins, and points for ties, but would need some finer adjustment since the score is dependent on how many points the game is won by.
In these tourneys the possible scores are quite simple, but the need for setting decimal scores is necessary.
The simplest solution would be to allow the score to be set "manually" (as in "not calculated") for each match, and then the score could be set either actually manually (on website) or by by API, by adding some variant over the theme match[scores_csv] like match[points_csv] and then allow values like "2.7-0.5" (3-0 match results), "0-5-1" (0-1 match result).
I think allowing such and score option in round robin also would "solve" this initial idea, in a simpler manner, and possibly less intrusive on existing.
